Quick Spin at Sunset

Spent the day with the family in Bristol, visiting the SS Great Britain and the M Shed museum and then ate at Za Za Bazaar. Didn’t have long when I got home, but the warm sun and blue sky was too good to miss so I had a quick spin to catch the sunset.

I only did about 10km up to Oldbury Castle and back but it was well worth it, as I hope these GoPro pics show…

Oh and share and comment on this post too please!

Sausage Stalls and Bacon Rolls

Had a great ride tonight with Kristian around Furze Knoll and Roundway. Roundway is a historic location where Oliver Cromwell fought in the Battle of Roundway!

We didn’t have a battle we simply climbed a few short hills and went down a few others.

We have had an awful week of rain since last Saturday and it was such a pleasure to be out in warm evening sunshine under blue skies.

We found a great little descent and I think I have the makings of a challenging and stimulating ride for MB Swindon in September.

That’s it now as far as bike riding is concerned until next week. My wife is going away for the weekend and leaving me with the kids.

Hopefully the weather will be nice and we will get out for some fresh air and a walk somewhere.

Hope you enjoy the pics from today.

Oh and the title of this post, just some joking today. These are two new mountain bike manoeuvres that you have to learn!

Local Trails and Sunshine

Local Trails and Sunshine

It has clouded over again this evening but we had some lovely sunshine at the weekend.

After my day of DIY on Saturday I went for a quick local ride. I rode up and down a bridle path that has had some work down to it. Last summer this was impassable due to deep hoof holes all the way down the bottom half.

It has been surfaced with some small loose rocks and is now a really fast (relatively straight) little descent.

There a few little lumps in it which you can get some air from, but mostly it was great fun to slide and pump down as the sun was setting.

In other news I registered for the Prospect Hospice Big Ride today and will be doing 50k on Sunday starting at the Croft Trail in Swindon.  See the Link below:
