Banff Mountain Film Festival – World Tour 2016

If you want some inspiration for an adventure or want to see and hear some great stories being told, you could do a lot worse than catching an evening at the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour. I love to watch “mountain” films of Vimeo or Youtube and thoroughly enjoy the filming of movies like Where the Trail Ends or Art of Flight. The BMFFWT is more of the same.

The nine day film festival was held in Banff Canada last November and the world tour brings just a flavour of the 370 films that were entered to 40 countries and to a global audience of around 500,000 people.

A surprise highlight for me last night was  movie about 4 guys and a dozen horses riding from Mexico to Canada. Brilliantly filmed, exciting, funny and simply inspiring if you have ever thought of hitting the trail for a trip on foot, by bike or on horseback!

There were films about super marathon running, climbing, skiing and mountain biking (unReal was sampled as the first film of the evening with THAT Brandon Semenuk clip).

Visit http://www.banff-uk.com/ for more information and look our for  screening near you next year.
